Nellis AFB During the past two months, as I operated out of the Nellis Air Force Base, adjacent to North Las Vegas, I kept observing parked fighter squadrons from NATO , and other allied foreign countries, along with U.S. Navy and Marine squadrons. Obviously they were all here to participate in the USAF’s “Red Flag” combat training exercise. But why the Navy and Marines? As they had their own “TOPGUN” fighter training program in California. What was so unique about “Red Flag?” Today my “burning question” got answered, and it scared the shit out of me. The “Red Eagles” Squadron, who flew the Russian Fighters out of “Silverbow” for “Red Flag.” “Red Flag” ...
